Answer: 2018. Co-founder Charlie Kirk cut the ribbon on the group’s first office, in downtown Phoenix, on Aug. 10, 2018, with about 30 staffers working there that fall. Kirk co-founded the conservative student organization in 2012 in Illinois. Turning Point leaders cited Arizona’s friendlier business climate and the office’s proximity to Arizona State University, home of one of the group’s largest chapters, as factors in the decision to relocate.
