Article Icon 1TSMC to Invest $100B More

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. will invest another $100 billion to expand its Phoenix operations, bringing its total Arizona commitment to $265 billion.

The chipmaker revealed the expansion plan on Friday, alongside record second-quarter results that showed its net profit rose more than 77% on soaring demand for AI chips.

The pledge builds on the $165 billion TSMC had already committed, itself a big step up from its original $65 billion plan, securing the state’s standing as a national chip-manufacturing leader.

“It’s the largest deal in U.S. history and cements our city as the heart of America’s technology manufacturing economy,” Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego said of TSMC’s investment.

Article Icon 1Schools Start to Reopen

Some Arizona classrooms are already filling, with the return to school rolling out district by district over the next few weeks.

Chandler Unified led the way, welcoming students back on Wednesday, with Kyrene, Higley Unified, Tempe Elementary, and Queen Creek set to return next week.

The largest districts in the Valley and Tucson will wait a little longer, with Mesa, Scottsdale, Phoenix Union, Phoenix Elementary, Peoria, and Deer Valley set to open during the first week of August.

Chandler Unified starts the year under a new superintendent, Anna Battle, who says her top priority will be listening to students, their families, and district staff.

Article Icon 1  ‘No Labels’ Ballot Thin

Mesa voter Marlene Elliott opened her primary ballot, saw “no candidate” in race after race, and briefly suspected a scam.

The reason for the blank lines: the lifelong voter had checked the box to receive a ballot from the No Labels Party, which fielded few candidates, leaving eight of 10 races on her ballot empty.

Arizona lets independents pick any party’s primary ballot, but they need to request the correct one. The No Labels Party was recognized as a statewide party in Arizona in 2023.

Today is the last day to vote early in person before polls open Tuesday.

Big Money Gets In Pre-IPO in AI

AI stocks now make up about 45% of the S&P 500. But, in AI, the smart money increasingly moves sooner because the biggest breakout gains often happen when investors get in before companies go public. In fact, last year, a whopping 67% of private-stage investments were in AI companies, up from 9% in 2022.

And yet, those opportunities are almost always reserved for the 1%.

Restaurant robotics pioneer Miso Robotics isn’t, and 40K everyday folks like you have already joined big money players like industry powerhouse Ecolab as investors.

Miso’s Flippy Fry Station AI robot has logged 200K+ hours in kitchens across the $1T fast-food industry. Its tech is used by big-name customers like White Castle, Jersey Mike’s, Cinnabon, and more. And Miso just acquired ~300 patents from Zume Pizza, a food robotics pioneer that raised $450 million.

Flippy alone represents a $4B/year revenue opportunity in the US. Become an early-stage shareholder in Miso today. Hurry to earn bonus shares.
