Wildcats Rally to Reach College World Series

The Arizona Wildcats are headed to Omaha for the NCAA Men’s College World Series after defeating No. 5 North Carolina 4-3 on Sunday.

Down 3-1 early, the Wildcats scored three runs in the eighth inning in the deciding game of the teams’ best-of-three Super Regionals matchup in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Arizona will face Coastal Carolina in the opening round of the eight-team College World Series that begins Friday in Omaha, Nebraska. Arizona last played in the series in 2021.

The Wildcats went into Sunday’s game after rebounding from an 18-2 loss in Game 1 on Friday to tie the series with a 10-8 win on Saturday.

Mexico: Gun Ruling Won’t Stop Lawsuit

Mexico will keep pursuing a lawsuit against a group of Arizona gun stores despite the U.S. Supreme Court rejecting the country’s lawsuit against gunmakers.

On Thursday, the court unanimously rejected the Mexican government’s lawsuit that accused U.S. gun manufacturers of aiding and abetting gun violence in that country.

In Arizona, the gun stores deny Mexico’s claim that they engaged in firearm sales with that country’s cartels.

Mexico claims the stores should have noticed red flags such as bulk purchases, cash sales, and gun types that indicated weapons would be used by cartels.

Group Claims Milk Company Broke Pledge

Animal rights groups filed an amended lawsuit against Fairlife, alleging the milk company failed to uphold a promise to cut ties with two Buckeye dairy farms accused of animal abuse.

Fairlife and the two farms did not respond to requests for comment.

The groups released footage allegedly showing trucks from Fairlife partner United Dairymen of Arizona arriving at farms under cover of night before driving to a Fairlife plant in Goodyear.

The farms, Rainbow Valley and Butterfield, are accused of mistreating cattle and dumping cattle carcasses near waterways that border a Phoenix-area subdivision and park.
