Investigators said a criminal organization tied to a Southern California-based cartel is behind two high-dollar heists targeting trucks and trains along I-40 in northern Arizona.

In one theft, suspects allegedly followed a semi hauling expensive tech into an Ash Fork truck stop, then stole up to $175,000 in merchandise in just 11 minutes while the drivers were inside.

Days later, the same group allegedly burglarized a BNSF railcar loaded with shoes, electronics, and clothing.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office urged truckers and residents to watch for suspicious activity involving Sprinter-style vans near I-40 stops and rail lines.

Health officials are monitoring a cruise ship passenger from Arizona for hantavirus after a deadly outbreak aboard the m/v Hondius left three people dead and several others ill.

The passenger is not showing symptoms.

Health agencies across multiple nations are tracing dozens of travelers who left the ship before the virus was confirmed. The vessel departed from Argentina in April with nearly 150 passengers and crew and is now en route to Spain’s Canary Islands.

Hantavirus is usually spread through contact with infected rodent droppings, though the Andes strain linked to the cruise ship outbreak can spread between people.

A Tucson native and veteran killed in a domestic violence shooting is being remembered for saving six lives through organ donation.

Ivy Unruh, 25, served four years in the U.S. Marines before working as a television broadcast engineer in Kansas. Authorities said her estranged husband ambushed and fatally shot her outside her Wichita apartment.

Unruh’s organs were donated to six recipients, including a 13-year-old girl. Loved ones launched a GoFundMe to help cover funeral and transportation expenses.
