U of A Fraternities Investigated

Six University of Arizona fraternities are under investigation, with three facing allegations of forced alcohol use, burns, and hospitalizations.

Sigma Alpha Mu and Sigma Chi were placed on interim suspension pending further investigation, while Phi Delta Theta’s activities were restricted.

Three other fraternities are under investigation for allegations of policy violations and noise complaints.

The investigations come amid broader scrutiny of campus incidents across Arizona, including a suspected hazing-related death at Northern Arizona University in January.

All Judges Pass Pre-Election Review

An independent commission found all judges on Arizona’s 2026 election ballot meet performance standards, based on surveys, comments, and public testimony.

The Arizona Commission on Judicial Performance Review has provided voters with evaluations ahead of retention elections since 1992.

The panel found all 84 judges and one Arizona Supreme Court justice up for retention votes this year met standards for professionalism and impartiality.

Firefighter Sees Baby He Delivered Graduate

Twenty-two years after he delivered her during an emergency birth, a retired firefighter attended the graduation of a Grand Canyon University student on Friday. Watch the report.

Alan Kent made the trip out from his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where in 2004 he responded to a 911 call and delivered Chloe Huddle at her home.

“Alan was the first person to hold me, and we’ve had a special bond ever since,” Huddle said.

The families made a pact to attend each other’s milestones, a promise they’ve kept ever since. Kent, now retired, also plans to attend Huddle’s upcoming wedding.
