Article Icon 1Andrea Doan to Chair NHL Panel

Arizona hockey advocate and community leader Andrea Doan was selected to chair a committee tasked with helping bring a new NHL team to the state.

The committee, still being finalized, will bring together community, business, and sports leaders with a goal of securing a team owner and a suitable arena in the Phoenix area.

Doan’s ties to hockey include her husband Shane, a former Arizona Coyotes star and current advisor to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Her son, Josh Doan, plays for the Buffalo Sabres and previously played at Arizona State. He played for the Coyotes in 2024, the team’s final season in Arizona before relocating to Utah.

Article Icon 1Jimmy McCain Named University Regent

Gov. Katie Hobbs appointed Jimmy McCain, the youngest son of late U.S. Sen. John McCain, to serve on the Arizona Board of Regents overseeing the state’s public universities.

A military veteran and businessman serving in the National Guard, Jimmy McCain holds degrees from Arizona State University and Trinity College Dublin. He is also a member of the Phoenix Committee on Foreign Relations.

He said in a statement that he aims to strengthen higher education across the state, particularly for tribal and rural communities.

The board of regents is a 12-member panel whose members serve eight-year terms.

Article Icon 1Job Interviewers Turn to AI

A survey found that a third of Arizona job seekers use artificial intelligence-aided tools to research and rehearse for job interviews, with 36% saying the practice improves their performance.

The use of the tools, which allow candidates to conduct hyper-personalized mock interviews tailored to specific companies, isn’t without its critics.

In the same survey by resume company resume.io, 47% called their use unethical, while 53% viewed the practice as smart preparation.

In a hypothetical scenario where AI tools were able to feed an applicant answers during an actual interview, just over half said they would use such technology if available.

From a Caltech Garage to a $1 Trillion Market

In 2016, some innovative Caltech robotics students set out to transform fast food. That first garage-built prototype became the foundation of Miso Robotics.

Since then, Miso’s robots have worked 200K+ hours in live kitchens for brands like White Castle, frying 4M+ baskets of fries, chicken, and more. That traction convinced NVIDIA, Uber AI, and Amazon to help refine Miso’s AI and robots. As restaurants grapple with 144% employee turnover rates and $20/hour minimum wages, that’s a major edge.

No wonder Miso’s first fully commercial robot, Flippy Fry Station, sold out of initial units in one week.

Now, Miso is leveraging its new manufacturing partnership to scale U.S.-based production nationwide across a $4B annual revenue opportunity.

And you can get up to 8% bonus stock and share in Miso’s growth as an early-stage investor.

“One of the Largest Industries Ever”

That’s what NVIDIA’s CEO said about robotics. And the numbers back it up. In Q4 2024, the sector raised nearly as much capital as in all of 2023.

So it’s a big deal that NVIDIA, Uber AI and Amazon helped Miso Robotics perfect Flippy, its new fully commercial kitchen robot. No wonder initial units sold out in one week.

Miso already has 200K+ hours for brands like White Castle under its belt. With the $1T fast-food industry facing 144% employee turnover rates, Flippy provides 24/7 labor and can boost profits by up to 3X.

Now, Miso’s leveraging its new manufacturing partnership to scale U.S.-based production nationwide across a $4B annual revenue opportunity.
