Own The Flyover

Join the Movement—Invest in The Flyover

We launched The Flyover to build something rare in American media—a newsroom focused on facts and real stories, not political narratives and biased reporting.

We’re now about halfway to our investment goal, thanks to more than 1,540 readers who have invested in our mission of independent, reader-driven journalism.

If you are an investor, thank you.

If you are not, I hope you will consider joining your fellow readers.

Before I focus on bringing in new investors, I would like to offer you, our readers, a special opportunity to be part of this next chapter. You’ve been with us from the start. You understand why The Flyover is needed—and I’d rather grow with you by my side than rely on outside investors who don’t share our values.

Making Investing More Accessible

That’s why I’ve asked our legal counsel to lower the minimum investment to $500—to make ownership in The Flyover accessible to more of the people who built it: you, our readers.

Why Invest in The Flyover

  1. Independent journalism matters. We answer to readers, not advertisers, political activists, or corporate boards.
  2. Our audience is soaring. From a kitchen-table startup to over 3.3 million readers nationwide, The Flyover is among the top 1% of fastest-growing media startups in America.
  3. We’re delivering results. Since our first investor round, readership has grown 27%, while maintaining a strong gross profit margin and expanding our reporting reach.
  4. You’re investing in trust. Nearly every dollar goes directly toward expansion and innovation—maintaining the fact-first, unbiased approach too often abandoned by legacy media.
  5. Return on your investment. As The Flyover continues its positive trajectory, there are several ways readers–turned–investors could benefit in the future: through a sale of the company, a public listing, or dividend distributions. While none of these are guaranteed, they reflect potential outcomes if our growth continues on its current path.

Owning a part of The Flyover is special. And even though it’s much more complicated and requires additional work for us to manage a larger group of smaller investors, I have instructed our attorney to proceed anyway. Because I want to partner with you, our readers.

If you’ve been on the fence, now is the time to invest.

Will you be part of the movement that changes the way Americans consume their news?

Tucson leads the nation’s metro areas with the highest share of family-owned businesses, according to a report.

About a third of the area’s businesses are family-run, the report noted, citing data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s latest annual business survey.

The U.S. Small Business Administration defines family businesses as those majority-owned by at least two family members. Nationally, they make up about 27% of all businesses.

Idaho topped the state rankings, with 39.8% of businesses family-owned. Arizona placed No. 10 with 32.3%. New York ranked last with 20.1%.

Article Icon 1Traffic Cameras Spark Privacy Debate

A group of Tempe residents and privacy advocates voiced concerns about the city’s network of Flock Safety cameras, which collect and share vehicle and driver data.

They are calling for greater transparency and an end to the city’s contract with Flock, citing potential misuse and connections with other surveillance systems like Ring.

The company and others point to the cameras’ success in helping solve crimes.

Tempe city leaders say the data is secure and automatically deleted after 30 days unless linked to an active investigation.

Article Icon 1Air Traffic Controllers Miss First Paychecks

Air travel delays due to staffing shortages aren’t as significant in Phoenix as elsewhere, as air traffic controllers begin to see their paychecks delayed by the government shutdown.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has remained relatively well-staffed this month, with about 90 air traffic controllers on the job out of a full staff of 95.

Nationally, staffing shortages have caused flight delays at some airports and some cancellations in Los Angeles. In Phoenix on Monday, about 300 flights were delayed.

Travelers are advised to monitor flight statuses.
