Article Icon 1GOP Unveils Election Security Bill

Republican state lawmakers introduced a measure to strengthen voter ID rules, tighten mail-in ballot security, and bar foreign contributions in state elections.

State Rep. Alexander Kolodin, R-Kingman, filed the Arizona Secure Elections Act on Monday. The proposal would go before voters in a future general election if the Legislature approves.

The act would set early voting deadlines, require government-issued ID for all voters, and mandate annual confirmation of mail-in ballot addresses.

The Arizona Freedom Caucus endorsed the proposal, citing persistent election administration issues and a need to restore voter confidence.

The Scottsdale City Council voted 4-3 to approve a compromise plan for Axon’s global headquarters, including a manufacturing facility, hotel, and 1,200 residential units.

The bodycam manufacturer’s proposal sparked a months-long debate over the number of apartments and condos, as well as the project’s impact on the community.

The debate intensified after Gov. Katie Hobbs signed a state law in April that blocked project opponents’ efforts to hold a citywide vote on the proposal.

Axon issued a statement after the vote, saying, “Thank you to the thousands of Scottsdale residents who helped make our project better with their feedback.”

The stadium at the University of Arizona in Tucson will be named Casino Del Sol Stadium under a 20-year, $60 million naming rights deal with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.

The deal also makes the tribe the exclusive casino and gaming partner for the university starting next year. The tribe operates the Casino Del Sol casino resort south of Tucson.

The agreement will bring exterior and interior branding, field logos, and upgraded amenities to the venue, previously known as Arizona Stadium.

University and tribal leaders said the partnership will also fund education, community, and cultural programs in Tucson and Southern Arizona.

Unknown Number Calling? It’s Not Random.

The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras laughing at the people they were scamming. One even bragged about making $250K off victims. The disturbing truth? Scammers don’t dial numbers at random—they buy your data from brokers.

Once your info is out there, it’s not just annoying calls. It opens the door to phishing, impersonation, and even identity theft. That’s why we recommend Incogni. They delete your personal data from the web, follow up with data brokers automatically, and continue monitoring as new threats pop up.
