U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego downplayed the prospect of running for president in 2028 ahead of his upcoming visit to a New Hampshire event popular with White House hopefuls.

Democrats in New Hampshire said they’re excited to meet Gallego, while also noting there are other potential contenders lining up visits in the weeks and months ahead.

While gaining notice among fellow Democrats, Gallego drew criticism from Republican Kari Lake, who posted a link to a story on alleged congressional mortgage fraud.

In 2023, Gallego claimed a Washington, D.C. home as his primary residence to secure lower VA loan interest rates. Gallego’s campaign said the VA knew of the arrangement.

Mount Lemmon officials ordered mandatory water restrictions, requiring residents and visitors to reduce water use by 50% or risk water shutoff.

Officials cited drier weather, water system leaks, and excessive water use for the restrictions, which include a ban on outdoor irrigation and car washing.

One business, Mount Lemmon Lodge, replaced silverware with disposable cutlery to cut dishwashing water use, lowered shower flow rates, and asked guests to sign agreements limiting water consumption.
