Article Icon 1High Beef Prices in Focus

Some Arizona ranchers pushed back on President Trump after he signaled plans to possibly import more beef from Argentina in an effort to lower U.S. prices.

Trump also called on the nation’s ranchers to lower their prices, saying high costs are hurting consumers. He cited his administration’s support of ranchers in other ways, including putting tariffs on cattle imports and pushing for more grazing lands.

Arizona ranchers argue the market will stabilize on its own and that regulatory barriers remain a challenge.

They also said that ranching has only recently become more profitable after years of tight margins, higher operating costs, and persistent droughts.

Article Icon 1State Among Deadliest for Motorcyclists

An insurance company study found that Arizona ranks among the top five most dangerous states for motorcyclists, trailing only Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

The state’s high rate of 11.2 fatalities per 10,000 registered riders is linked to lower helmet use, rural roads, and other safety factors.

Maine and Wisconsin were ranked the two safest states for riders.

Safety experts say the risks of motorcycle deaths are lowered through helmet use, sober riding, and drivers sharing the road.

The championship race in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series will roar to life Sunday at Phoenix Raceway, with four drivers vying for the season title amid a full field seeking a race-day win.

Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, and William Byron make up the Championship 4 bidding for the season title, to be determined by which of them finishes best.

Larson is the only past Cup season champion among the foursome, while Hamlin has the most wins this season, Briscoe leads in top-five finishes, and Byron is tops in laps led.

Race weekend at Phoenix Raceway will also determine season titles in the NASCAR Xfinity and Truck series.
