Gov. Katie Hobbs hit the campaign trail this weekend, with stops in Phoenix, Bisbee, and Tucson as she seeks a second term.

Hobbs, who announced her reelection bid last month, said she will focus on affordable housing, border security, water policy, and support for Arizona families, while citing a desire to move away from divisive politics.

She faces three Republican challengers: Karrin Taylor Robson and U.S. Rep. Andy Biggs, both of whom are endorsed by President Trump, and U.S. Rep. David Schweikert. The GOP primary is set for Aug. 4.

A suspected drunk driver who reached speeds over 120 miles per hour crashed near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport early Sunday while fleeing police, causing his car to roll and catch fire.

After being handcuffed, the driver, Ivan Correa, tried to run from the scene but was caught. Two other people were in the car, and one of them also ran and was caught.

Correa and one passenger were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The second annual Safford Air Show attracted a record crowd of about 4,500 people, doubling last year’s turnout and providing plenty of photo-worthy moments.

Spectators who gathered at Safford Regional Airport watched parachute jumps and flights by vintage warbirds, modern jets, stunt planes, and helicopters.

The show also featured ground events, including a jet-powered car race. Interactive displays highlighted the airport’s growth as a key local hub.
