Article Icon 1Firefighters Unhurt in Roof Collapse

No injuries were reported when a vacant building’s roof collapsed as Tucson firefighters worked to contain a large fire near the 3100 block of East 22nd Street on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters were on the roof at the time of the collapse.

A fire department spokesman said the fire may have been started by a homeless person. An investigation is ongoing.

The Tempe Elementary School District was named the state’s top elementary school district in Ranking Arizona public polling.

Litchfield Elementary School District and Osborn School District #8 ranked second and third.

The Tempe district also topped last year’s poll.
