Article Icon 1Kelly Censured and Faces Pension Cut

The Pentagon censured U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly and moved to cut his military retirement pay for his participation in a November video urging service members to refuse unspecified, allegedly illegal orders.

The censure will go in Kelly’s permanent military record and could lead to further action, including a demotion.

Kelly, a retired Navy captain, called the move politically motivated and vowed to fight it, framing it as a violation of the First Amendment and retired service members’ rights.

The Arizona Cardinals fired head coach Jonathan Gannon on Monday after a 3‑14 season, the worst record in his three‑year tenure.

Arizona’s season reached one of its lowest points in October with a physical sideline altercation between Gannon and running back Emari Demercado over a botched touchdown.

In other team developments, speculation is mounting that the Cardinals could move on from quarterback Kyler Murray through a trade or his release, as the team resets under new leadership.

Other NFL coaches and executives fired on Monday included Las Vegas coach Pete Carroll and Atlanta coach Raheem Morris.

Corona “Mae” Howard, who was born in Greeley, Colorado, helped maintain and modify B-17 and B-24 bombers in Wyoming as a Rosie the Riveter during World War II.

Afterward, she became one of Colorado’s first woman cab drivers and once survived a kidnapping attempt while on the job. Later, she spent decades working various jobs for the federal government before retiring to Arizona.

Today, Howard remains active, bowling weekly and collecting coins. On the secret to her longevity, she advised: “Be nice to people, stay active, eat one good meal a day, and drink water. Maybe a little wine, too.”
