Question: Where in Arizona will you find the world’s largest collection of miniature airplanes?
Answer: Prescott. The Kalusa Miniature Model Airplane Collection, the world’s largest to-scale collection of miniature airplane models, is housed at the Hazy Library at Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott. Crafted over decades by John W. Kalusa (1922–2003), a former WWII aerial photographer and mechanic, the collection contains 5,825 hand-crafted, hand-painted miniature aircraft models including pre-flight, private, commercial, military, and rocket models. In 2003, the Kalusa Collection was inducted into the Guiness Book of World Records for the largest collection of handmade aeroplanes in the world.
