Trump Slams Court’s Copper Delay

President Trump criticized a federal appeals court’s temporary block of a land transfer for the proposed Resolution Copper mine in Oak Flat, saying thousands of U.S. jobs are at stake.

In a social media post, Trump accused the “Radical Left Court” of harming American interests, saying, “3,800 Jobs are affected, and our Country, quite simply, needs Copper — AND NOW!”

On Monday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals paused the land transfer to consider legal challenges from mine critics, including the San Carlos Apache Tribe. The court ruled after a federal judge declined to block the land swap on Friday.

Student Fatally Stabbed in Classroom

A classroom fight between two students at Maryvale High School in Phoenix escalated into a fatal stabbing.

The fight was between two teen boys. Police said school staff alerted a school safety officer to the fight shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

One student suffered multiple stab wounds from a pocket knife and died at a hospital, police said. The other student was taken to a hospital with unspecified, non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident prompted a lockdown and a modified school schedule, with counselors made available for students. Police asked anyone with video or photo evidence to submit the images online.
