Article Icon 1House Speaker and Arizona Senators Clash

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-Louisiana, clashed Wednesday with Arizona Democratic U.S. Sens. Ruben Gallego and Mark Kelly in an on-camera verbal exchange.

Gallego accused Republicans of covering up the Epstein files, while Kelly urged the House to reconvene to swear in Arizona U.S. Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva of Tucson, claiming she is the final vote needed to release the files.

Johnson called the confrontation a “publicity stunt” orchestrated by the Arizona lawmakers, saying Grijalva’s swearing-in will take place when the House reconvenes in regular session and that the timetable is unrelated to the Epstein files.

Former Arizona State University assistant professor Omar Yaghi was awarded a 2025 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his groundbreaking work in reticular chemistry.

Yaghi, now a professor at the University of California-Berkeley, made his first key discoveries at ASU in the 1990s, designing metal-organic frameworks with unprecedented molecular structures.

The applications for the technology include gas storage, water harvesting, and carbon capture.

Yaghi, 60, will share the prize and its $1.16 million cash award with two other metal-organics researchers, Susumu Kitagawa of Kyoto University in Japan and Richard Robson of the University of Melbourne in Australia.

A Phoenix psychiatrist weighed in on the growing trend of parents reintroducing landlines as a safer, low-tech alternative to smartphones.

A September Parents.com report highlighted the trend, noting that families are placing phones in shared spaces to limit screen time and reduce online risks.

Dr. Funda Bachini of Phoenix said landlines also help children build confidence, responsibility, and social skills while keeping calls visible to caregivers.

Really, the goal and the point of it is that it’s a centralized phone that’s out in front of everyone. Everyone knows when you’re making calls and who you’re going to be talking to,” Bachini said.

More Than Seven Revenue Streams from One Business

Most companies chase one or two ways to make money. Surf Lakes has at least seven.

At the heart of it all is their patented 360° Wave Tech, which enables 2,000 surfable rides per hour for both beginners and pros. That single breakthrough unlocks multiple revenue streams: licensing fees, royalties, memberships, day passes, media, coaching, food, retail, and direct park operations.

Another key aspect of this technology is that it enables the development of up to half a mile of beachside property, adding exponential value to each project.

It’s why surfing legends Tom Curren and Mark “Occy” Occhilupo are proud and vocal ambassadors of Surf Lakes.

Actor Chris Hemsworth even said this after his Surf Lakes experience: “What an incredible setup! Really thankful I got to test this out… an awesome day.”

Surf tourism is a $65B global industry, yet fewer than 1% of people can access real waves. Surf Lakes makes it possible anywhere, turning cities into surf destinations.

They’ve already sold nine licenses worldwide, and the expansion is coming. Invest in Surf Lakes by Oct. 30 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
