Federal agents detained several suspected illegal immigrants outside of a Phoenix court on Wednesday, triggering protests.

The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency released a statement saying it was executing its mission ofremoving criminal aliens and others who have violated our nation’s immigration laws.

Protesters lined the court building’s entrance, with others trying to block a van from taking detainees away. Immigration lawyers said the detentions might discourage some illegal immigrants from showing up for court dates.

In January, the Trump administration issued a directive that allows immigration enforcement at courthouses, schools, churches, and hospitals, reversing prior federal policies.

An Amazon delivery drone made an emergency landing Wednesday in a grassy area of an apartment complex in Tolleson, one of the cities where the retail giant launched Prime Air Drone Delivery.

A resident who took a video with the drone upside down described the event as a crash landing.

An Amazon spokesperson disputed the claim of a crash landing, saying the drone made a safe, emergency landing after it was impacted by “external factors outside of its control.”

Last December, Amazon paused its Prime Air delivery program after two of its drones crash-landed during testing in Oregon.
