Article Icon 1Arizonans Restless over Housing Costs

One in four adults has thought about leaving Arizona due to housing costs, according to a poll.

In the survey, 28% said they “have seriously considered leaving Arizona” due to unaffordable housing, and 40% listed housing prices as a top concern. Only 13% described housing as affordable.

Arizona currently ranks as the 15th most expensive housing market in the nation, with a median sales price of $454,600. See the full rankings.

While many voice concerns about housing prices, Arizona continues to attract wealthier buyers with luxury home sales strong in the Phoenix Valley, based on a new analysis.

Article Icon 1 Canadians Will Need to Register to Stay

Canadians who plan to stay more than 30 days in Arizona and other states will soon need to register with the U.S. government and be fingerprinted. Currently, Canadians can stay up to six months without a visa.

A reporter received mixed reactions from Canadian snowbirds in Yuma who were asked about the new requirements, which go into effect on April 11 for everyone over the age of 14.

President Trump ordered the changes in January as part of his immigration agenda, and they’re now being implemented at a time when the battle over tariffs escalates between the U.S. and Canada.

Some state officials worry about the economic impact of such a move since about a million Canadians contribute $1.4 billion to the state’s economy annually.

Article Icon 1State’s First Buc-ee’s Coming to Goodyear

Arizona’s first Buc-ee’s is under construction in Goodyear with an opening date scheduled for June 2026.

The iconic travel center operates only about 50 locations nationwide and draws a huge following for its food and retail offerings.

As with its other locations, Buc-ee’s is going big by building a 74,000-square-foot site, which is 23% larger than a football field.

The store will be located on Bullard Avenue and Interstate 10, and is expected to generate 200 full-time jobs. It will be open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Somalia is facing a devastating combination of natural disasters, global conflicts, widespread poverty, and disease outbreaks. East Africa has just endured its worst drought in 40 years, leaving tens of millions without access to clean water, wiping out millions of livestock, and destroying crops. With domestic food production crippled, Somalia has relied heavily on imports—90% of its wheat coming from Russia and Ukraine—until those shipments stopped.

Now, two in five children in Somalia suffer from acute malnutrition, and cholera is spreading in some regions. The food crisis, compounded by global humanitarian aid being redirected to Europe and the Middle East, has created a perfect storm, leading to a sharp rise in child malnutrition.
