Hackers Hit Arizona’s Court System

Criminal hackers copied personal information belonging to many Arizonans in a cyberattack on the state court system this week, Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Ann Scott Timmer said Friday night.

Court IT staff caught the attack and moved to shut it down. The Supreme Court’s Administrative Office of the Courts is now contacting everyone it believes was affected.

Officials haven’t said what information was taken or how many people are involved, citing the ongoing investigation. Arizona’s breach notification law requires that residents be told when their personal information is compromised.

“As soon as I learned about this outrageous criminal attack on Arizona’s Courts, I immediately called our team together to formulate a response,” Timmer said, adding that she spoke with the state’s top FBI official and pledged the courts’ full support. Anyone worried about their data can place a security freeze on their credit.

Dying Hurricanes Take Aim at Arizona

Moisture from dying Hurricanes Odalys and Polo will bring numerous thunderstorms and a flash flooding threat to Arizona on Monday and Tuesday.

Tropical moisture arrives Sunday, and showers build across western and northwestern Arizona on Monday.

Polo, a Category 5 storm off Mexico’s west coast, is stronger and slower to break apart, and forecasters expect it to reach Sonora near Hermosillo and San Carlos at lower strength early next week. U.S. officials warned travelers to expect flooding, mudslides, and road closures.

How much falls where depends on tracks that still diverge: some models put more than 2 inches over northern Arizona from Prescott to Flagstaff, others over the White Mountains. The Valley could pick up 1.5 inches, and a flood watch remained for much of the state over the weekend.

AZ Restaurants Land on National ‘Best’ Lists

Sixteen Arizona restaurants have recently been named among the nation’s best by outlets including The New York Times and Yelp.

The Times’ list of America’s 41 best Mexican restaurants included Phoenix’s Bacanora, Tucson’s BK Carne Asada & Hot Dogs and Phoenix food truck Mariscos El Profe.

The Times separately named Durant’s, a Phoenix steakhouse open for more than 70 years that recently underwent a makeover, among its 50 favorite U.S. restaurants for 2026.

On Yelp’s ranking of the 100 best Mexican restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, Tucson’s Baja Cafe on Campbell placed highest among 10 Arizona entries, at No. 24.
