Article Icon 1‘Miracle’ Emergency Landing Caught on Camera

Surveillance footage captured the moment a small plane safely crash-landed on a busy street in central Phoenix on Sunday.

The aircraft lost engine power soon after takeoff from a private runway in Laveen, forcing veteran pilot Mike Tragarz to make an emergency landing.

All three people on board received only minor injuries.

It’s 100% a miracle,” Phoenix Fire Captain DJ Lee said. “This is a very busy street. It’s always busy, but for whatever reason, when he crashed in this little area, all of the traffic was away.”

One woman who was getting off a bus said she was surprised by seeing the plane flying just above her head before touching down, as Tragarz narrowly avoided cars, buildings, and power lines, striking only a water main and landscaping.

A World War II U.S. Navy veteran who survived a kamikaze attack celebrated his 100th birthday in Scottsdale this month.

Leonard Schwartz served aboard the USS St. Lo when the ship was sunk by a kamikaze attack off the Philippines in 1944. More than 100 sailors died.

Schwartz recalled spending hours in the water avoiding explosions and sharks until rescue, calling himself “lucky to be alive.”

Now living at a Scottsdale care home, Schwartz also reflected on a century of life that included service in the Korean War and a 72-year marriage.

Phoenix police say they will stop using non-U.S. license plates on unmarked vehicles after a viral video showed officers using cars with Mexican plates.

The department confirmed it had operated such vehicles and said Police Chief Matt Giordano has discontinued the practice and ordered a review.

The video showed officers making an arrest near 30th Avenue and Indian School Road during a traffic stop tied to a felony warrant.

Police acknowledged the plates caused confusion and concern and said officers must clearly identify themselves during interactions with the public.

Unknown Number Calling? It’s Not Random

The BBC caught scam call center workers on hidden cameras as they laughed at the people they were tricking. One worker bragged about making $250k from victims. The disturbing truth? Scammers don’t pick phone numbers at random. They buy your data from brokers.

Once your data is out there, it’s not just calls. It’s phishing, impersonation, and identity theft. That’s why we recommend Incogni: They delete your info from the web, monitor and follow up automatically, and continue to erase data as new risks appear.
