Article Icon 1Crews Likely Aided Airman Rescue

Arizona-based military assets and elite crews from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base were likely involved in the mission to recover a U.S. airman shot down in Iran.

Video from the rescue area shows Pave Hawk helicopters and MC-130 airplanes, two types of aircraft operated by the base’s 55th Rescue Squadron.

The successful rescue followed the downing of an F-15E. One crew member was found quickly. A second airman was rescued after hiding in mountainous terrain for more than 24 hours.

Martha McSally, a retired combat pilot and former U.S. senator from Arizona, said the mission showed the coordination and split-second decision-making required.

Arizona U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego said he is considering a 2028 presidential run, and called for Democrats to rebuild support among Latino voters after recent declines.

Earlier this year, Arizona U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, also a Democrat, signaled possible interest in a 2028 White House run.

Gallego said he is weighing family considerations and the demands of a national campaign before making a final decision.

He said a Democrat win in 2028 hinges on regaining at least 62% of the Latino vote, saying, “We didn’t hit that in 2024, and that’s why we find ourselves in this situation.”

Jeff Provenzano completed his 30-year goal of skydiving in all 50 states, finishing with a leap under the Northern Lights in Alaska.

Over the course of the 50-state journey, the Arizona skydiver logged more than 22,000 jumps while traveling and coordinating plans.

The Alaska jump required more than two years to coordinate to account for weather, aircraft, and night conditions, including the unpredictable timing of the Northern Lights.

The final jump came after multiple delays due to cloud cover and poor visibility.

We were told inflation was “transitory.” Then we were told it was “over.” The mainstream narrative’s portrayal of the cost of living is an insult to every hardworking American.

For those near retirement, this puts you in the worst economic scenario imaginable. Another extended period where prices are rising, yet economic growth is slowing.

Only this time, the Fed can’t save you. They can’t raise interest rates after the recent secondary cut, as it would bring the economy to a halt. They can’t lower interest rates again without fueling inflation to new highs.
