Therapist Oversight in Focus

Some Arizona mental health therapists may stop accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield due to the insurer’s new regulations requiring more oversight by credentialed supervisors.

Blue Cross says the changes are intended to protect patients and ensure proper oversight.

Some therapists argue that the rules overburden supervisors, requiring them to handle intake, set treatment plans, and be immediately available for appointments on behalf of associates. They also say the rules could lead to longer waitlists and reduced access.

No. 1 Wildcats Make Program History

The Arizona Wildcats men’s basketball team was named the unanimous No. 1 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Polls for the first time in program history.

The Wildcats, 18-0, received all 61 first-place votes in the AP poll and all 31 in the coaches poll following victories over Central Florida and Arizona State.

Arizona leads six Big 12 teams in the rankings and is one of only three remaining undefeated Division I teams, along with Nebraska and Miami (Ohio).

The Wildcats have held the No. 1 spot in the AP poll for six consecutive weeks, marking their longest streak since the 2013–14 season.

Tempe and Tucson Among Top Move-To Cities

Tempe and Tucson rank among the top 10 U.S. cities to move to in 2026, with Tucson fifth and Tempe sixth, according to a study.

The study analyzed moving search trends from 2019 through October 2025, with mid-sized, university-anchored cities in the South and Southwest among the most popular.

Tucson is projected to see 1.37 new moves for every exit, while Tempe is expected to see 1.33 new moves for every exit, based on the study.

Knoxville leads the national list, followed by Tulsa, Oklahoma; Vancouver, Washington; and Savannah, Georgia.
