Teams Prepped for Bowl Games

Arizona State plays Duke today in the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas, while No. 17 Arizona will face Southern Methodist University on Friday in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California.

The games cap a successful year for the two teams, including off the field, as ASU recently signed coach Kenny Dillingham to a contract extension after he was courted by Michigan.

In ASU’s bowl game, Duke enters as the favorite. The Sun Devils are expected to be without 19 players due to injuries and transfers, including star quarterback Sam Leavitt.

Arizona is a slight favorite against SMU. The Wildcats seek to win a sixth straight game, building on the team’s 9-3 record.
