Air Canada flights at Phoenix Sky Harbor were canceled starting this weekend amid a worldwide strike by the airline’s flight attendants.

The dispute centers on pay and unpaid work, with the airline’s proposed 38% total compensation increase over four years rejected by the union as insufficient.

The strikers defied a government back-to-work order from the Canada Industrial Relations Board.

Affected passengers can request full refunds or alternative travel through the airline’s website or app.

The developer behind the proposed $650 million Astra project to build Arizona’s tallest tower postponed groundbreaking on the downtown Phoenix project until the second half of 2026 to finalize financing.

The developer plans to build a 44-story residential tower alongside a 34-story adjacent tower. The taller building would rise 541 feet, surpassing the 483-foot former Chase Tower as the state’s tallest building.

The buildings would house 700 luxury apartments, office space, and a 229-room hotel.

A Peoria-based nonprofit joined the search for 35-year-old University of Arizona graduate Hoi Kei Woo, known as Patricia, who went missing on April 18 in Pima County.

Sonoran Valley Search, Trauma, Rescue, and Recovery is providing drones, search dogs, and advanced mapping technology. The volunteer organization has solved eight of the last 10 cases it has investigated.

The husband and wife who lead the nonprofit have backgrounds in public safety and criminal and forensic psychology.

Police found Patricia’s car—with her purse and phone inside—at Mt. Lemmon’s Windy Point. While foul play isn’t suspected, officials said they have exhausted all of their efforts with no new leads.
